Positioned on an end lot, this striking building features uninterrupted, breathtaking views of Boundary Bay and the surrounding mountains, afforded by the thoughtful use of large glass panes and several acute mitre windows. These architectural features serve dual purposes: they enhance the aesthetic appeal of the structure while providing a seamless integration with the picturesque surroundings. The client had a very specific vision for their home: they wanted a highly modern style dwelling that incorporated lots of floor-to-ceiling glass. Their goal was to experience beach-style living indoors while also taking advantage of outdoor living space sheltered from the elements. Essentially, they wanted the epitome of beach living and were determined to make it a reality.
To achieve this, the architect needed to find a way to incorporate an unobstructed view of the beach into the home’s design.
