West Vancouver
Perched on a prominent lot in West Vancouver, this contemporary home represents Summit Glazing’s first collaboration with Bradner Homes and the acclaimed architectural firm McLeod Bovell Modern Houses. Designed with clarity and performance in mind, the glazing scope focuses on minimizing visible structure while maximizing openness and functional elegance.
At the core of the project is the Schüco FWS 60 CV Ribbon Window system, marking its debut in Summit’s portfolio. This advanced system allows curtain wall elements to operate without requiring separate insert windows, significantly reducing the visual weight of framing and creating a streamlined appearance across the façade. The result is a ribbon of glazing that provides operability without sacrificing the slim sightlines typically reserved for fixed glass.
To complement this language of lightness and flow, Summit also supplied and installed butt-joint curtain wall sections and a large corner lift-and-slide unit, executed with Schüco’s ASE 80 Design Line. These features not only frame uninterrupted views but also offer fluid transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces, supporting the hosting-focused lifestyle envisioned by the design team. Additional components include AD UP 75 swing doors, integrated with the same emphasis on clean detailing and ease of use.
Each element was selected to serve both architectural clarity and long-term performance in a coastal environment. From coordination through execution, Summit Glazing delivered a cohesive envelope solution that supports the project’s modernist design goals while showcasing the technical capability behind every custom detail.
