This completed residence in one of Vancouver’s most sought-after neighbourhoods brings together BattersbyHowat Architects, Natural Balance Home Builders, and Summit Glazing in a clean, contemporary composition of concrete, wood, and glass. The architecture features long horizontal lines, deep overhangs, and carefully framed views, so the glazing package had to support both the visual concept and the performance requirements of the West Coast climate.
Summit Glazing supplied and installed a custom aluminum glazing package that combines large picture windows, operable units for natural ventilation, and generous openings to outdoor living spaces. Floor-to-ceiling glazing in the main living areas captures daylight and offers views into the landscape, while more private rooms utilize a mix of smaller apertures and carefully placed windows to strike a balance between privacy, light, and thermal comfort. High-performance insulated glass and thermally broken frames help manage heat loss and solar gain throughout the year, supporting comfortable interior conditions without compromising the refined, minimalist detailing of the façade.
As a Vancouver-based glazing contractor working across British Columbia, Summit Glazing was responsible for the full coordination, supply, and installation of the custom window and door systems on this project. The result is a quiet, restrained glazing solution that reinforces the architecture, connects the interior to the site, and demonstrates how a well-considered custom glazing package can elevate modern residential design in the Lower Mainland.
