Positioned above the waterline of Osoyoos Lake, this hillside home is shaped by its surroundings and defined by its connection to them. The architectural concept required a glazing solution that would blur the boundaries between the interior and exterior, framing the lake without compromising thermal performance or detailing discipline. Summit Glazing was selected to deliver that solution, combining large-format clarity with precision-built assemblies designed for harsh exposure and long-term function.
The main level is anchored by a custom Schüco AWS 75 window wall system, installed as a full-height façade facing the lake. This stretch of floor-to-ceiling glass connects directly to a deck through a seamlessly integrated ASE 80 Design Line lift-and-slide door, creating an unobstructed transition from indoor living to the South Okanagan landscape. The same system reappears in the master suite, where a second lift-and-slide opens onto a private balcony that overlooks the lake and surrounding valley.
The glazing package includes AWS 75 BS.SI operable units, selected for their thermal performance and uniform appearance across the elevation. AD UP 75 swing doors round out the scope, installed to match the profile and finish of fixed elements while offering secure and accessible entries throughout the home.
This project showcases Summit’s ability to deliver minimal glazing solutions in complex terrain, bringing together thermal performance, uninterrupted views, and architectural intent with a clean, custom finish.
