Situated at the top of Alpine Meadows in Whistler, this residence was designed to capture its surroundings through a refined glazing strategy that meets both performance and aesthetic demands. Summit Glazing delivered a fully customized package that balances durability, clarity, and environmental control, all within a complex mountainous setting.
The top floor is wrapped in a continuous FWS 50.SI structurally glazed curtain wall system, offering floor-to-ceiling transparency and uninterrupted mountain views. This system was specified for its clean exterior profile and ability to meet demanding alpine performance targets while eliminating the need for visible framing.
Two ASE 80 HI lift-and-slide doors on the lower levels open onto a private interior courtyard. These systems were chosen for their smooth operation, tight sealing, and ability to maintain consistent thermal performance across large openings. Complementing the curtain wall are several AWS 90 BS.SI windows, installed to support the home’s overall insulation strategy while maintaining uniform sightlines.
A solid AD UP 75 front door at the main entrance completes the envelope with a durable and visually cohesive finish. As always, Summit coordinated closely with the construction team to ensure precise sequencing and a seamless result from rough opening to final installation.
This project showcases Summit Glazing’s expertise in integrating high-performance glazing into complex alpine structures, delivering clarity, functionality, and comfort at elevation.
