Glazing systems: Local Curtain Wall
Exposure rating (1-5): 2
A lakefront home that makes no compromises on natural light or mountain views, this residence on the shores of Nicola Lake required glazing that could deliver visual clarity and engineering precision. Summit Glazing was selected to provide two large-format curtain wall assemblies utilizing Trico Aluminum and Garibaldi Glass systems. These custom-fabricated frames were designed to maximize the southern exposure while preserving the home’s sharply angular geometry, creating seamless visual corridors to the lake from multiple interior levels.
The primary curtainwall installation is a bold pentagon-shaped assembly with straight sides, rising floor-to-ceiling behind the main lounge and opening the structure to panoramic light. Every dimension and corner required careful on-site calibration to align with the timber structure and the interior finish plan. Our team coordinated closely with local suppliers to ensure timely delivery and seamless integration, tightening system tolerances to prevent seasonal expansion issues in this exposed lakeside location.
The result is a home that feels visually untethered from the shore, anchored only by precision glass and a framing system engineered for long-term performance.
