This sharply detailed Passive House residence pushes the boundaries of residential design with its demanding geometry, oversized glazed assemblies, and fully integrated operable systems. All executed to the highest standard of precision and performance.

Summit Glazing was selected to engineer and deliver a complete custom glazing package for the home, bringing technical clarity to a design that is both visually ambitious and functionally exacting. The residence features 15-foot-tall raked curtain wall systems that define the building’s sculptural street presence while allowing natural light to flood interior spaces. These towering glazed sections were executed using the Schüco FWS 50.SI curtain wall system, carefully coordinated to meet both aesthetic and airtightness requirements set by Passive House certification.
In addition to the large-scale glazing, the home incorporates a series of Schüco AWS 90.SI tilt-turn windows, several of which are fully motorized to enable controlled ventilation without compromising thermal performance. These were installed alongside ASE 80 Design Line lift-slide doors and AD UP 75 swing doors, which feature barrier-free thresholds and concealed hinges. Each component was chosen and installed with meticulous attention to durability, accessibility, and architectural clarity.

An angled skylight system adds another layer of complexity, extending the envelope’s transparency into the roofline and ensuring consistent daylighting through all levels of the home. As with all Passive House projects, airtightness and thermal continuity were non-negotiable. Every junction, transition, and fastening point was handled with precision, guided by a deep understanding of envelope detailing.
This project exemplifies the intersection of form, function, and performance. Summit Glazing played a vital role in turning a bold architectural concept into a highly livable, technically resilient structure reflecting the future of British Columbia’s urban housing.
